Emily and Bradley’s wedding day at 1208 Washington Place was the perfect reflection of two people connected to their heritage, and their families. As a SC wedding photographer, I absolutely loved documenting Bradley’s Iraqi roots and Emily’s Japanese traditions that were woven through every part of the celebration. From the quiet getting-ready moments to the lively reception dance floor, their day honored where they came from while celebrating the future they are building together.

Situated in the heart of downtown Columbia, 1208 Washington Place, was the ideal backdrop for this multicultural celebration. The venue’s timeless architecture, elegant ballroom, and spacious layout allowed each moment to unfold naturally. Emily stepped into her lace gown in soft natural light, surrounded closely by her mother and bridesmaids.
Later, when the celebration moved into the main ballroom, the space transformed into a vibrant, candlelit reception. Olive linens, lush florals, and a classic checkered dance floor created a welcoming atmosphere that made guests feel at ease. It was one of those receptions where you could feel the joy the moment you walked in.

As wedding photographers, there is something incredibly meaningful about documenting multicultural weddings. The storytelling, the traditions, and the layers of family history come alive throughout the day. Bradley’s Iraqi heritage and Emily’s Japanese background harmonized effortlessly in their celebration. The couple incorporated cultural nods through symbolic décor, family moments, and intentional touches spread throughout the reception.
One of the sweetest details was Emily’s handcrafted origami crane place cards symbolizing luck and longevity. Guests found their seats beside delicate cranes, glowing candles, and floral arrangements from Poppy Flowers and Flower Moxie. The evening featured flavorful bites from Loosh Culinaire, cocktails by Twist Bartending, and a stunning Lannie’s Cake.

From Emily’s emotional first look to her joyful portraits with Bradley at 1208 Washington Place, the entire day was full of genuine connection. The energy never dipped—not for a moment. Once the dance floor opened, DJ Mario Fadel, kept the celebration going that honored both families all night long.
In the end, their wedding was so much more than an event. It was a celebration of unity, love, and honoring the cultures that shaped them in a historic Columbia venue.
