Ellen & Dylan – Spring Wedding at Wildwood

Some love stories take the long way home, and Ellen and Dylan’s is one of our favorites ever! These two were childhood sweethearts. They never really dated, but they were always together. In 8th grade, Ellen wore Dylan’s pullover just about every day, and in 9th grade she wrote “Ellen Loves You” inside his baseball cap. It was so sweet including that exact hat in their detail photos! After graduation, life pulled them apart. Ellen went off to college, Dylan moved away for work, and they lost touch. Years later, Ellen packed up her four year old daughter, Lucy, and moved back to her hometown to be close to her village.

Right before the move, she went to her 10 year high school reunion, and there was Dylan. Ellen says it felt like no time had passed at all. They started dating soon after, and when Ellen moved home, Dylan jumped right into full time parent mode.

As Columbia, SC wedding photographers, we get to hear a lot of love stories, but this one had us in tears before the day even started. On a wedding day like this, our job is to catch the big moments and the small ones too, like the first look, the vows, the hugs from family, and those quiet in-between moments when a little girl grabs her new dad’s hand.
