Joye and Jordan – Columbia, SC Engagement Session

Couples

I had so much fun with Joye and Jordan throughout their engagement season. I know it’s cheesy but JOYE lives up to her name. She and Jordan are so comfortable together and always have a blast together. When talking about engagement sessions, I always encourage couples to think about something that sounds true to THEM. One of Joye and Jordan’s favorite things to do together is to create pottery and paint at Mad Platter. They asked if it would be possible to do part of their session there so of COURSE I was down. Learning that dogs are welcomed inside made it even better. Jordan’s family is Chinese and they wanted to incorporate Chinese elements and symbols into their wedding details. So for part one of their engagement session, they got the clay to start making pieces for their cake toppers, and plaques for Chinese symbols. I was amazed at the details they made, especially for the cake toppers! I used to be an art teacher, so this just brought both of my worlds together. So after Day 1, they created the clay pieces and then they were fired, so of course I had to come back for a bit of Day 2 to see them paint their pieces! After their pieces were created, fired, painted and glazed, they were ready for the wedding. Scroll to the bottom to see the finished cake toppers!
